2. LEARNING OUTCOMES

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, student is able to:
1. Understand the structure of atoms and the creation of chemical compounds
2. Recognize the categories of chemical reactions and perform stoichiometric calculations based on them
3. Understand the condition of chemical equilibrium and the factors that affect the position of chemical equilibrium
4. Understand the mechanism of dissolution of compounds and the properties of solutions
5. Perform the necessary calculations for the preparation, mixing and dilution of solutions
6. Define active acidity and how to evaluate it
7. Apply laboratory methods for separation of heterogeneous and homogeneous solutions and quantification of inorganic substances
8. Understand the composition of buffer solutions and their importance in biological systems
9. Determine the acidity of aqueous solutions by titration
10. Identify and quantify compounds using ultraviolet spectroscopy
11. Understand the role and importance of nutrients for plants and animals
12. Write and names the main inorganic compounds
13. May take initiatives to solve emerging chemical problems
